US Accounting Lead – Outsourced Tech Startup Firm

Talentedge are delighted to be partnering with a rapid-scale outsourcing firm who provide consultancy services to the UK’s leading early-stage startups and scaleups. Clients range across the entire technology / media / retail landscape, from pre-revenue businesses through to profitable Series A / B organisations.
In what is a newly created opportunity owing to an expanding client base of businesses with US operations, we’re hiring a US Accounting Lead.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to build the scalable infrastructure and processes to support and drive the growth of the firms’ existing and future client base. This is also an incredibly commercial opportunity whereby you’ll be exposed to new client pitching as well as upselling US services to existing UK clients.
You’ll be great for this role if you have qualified with an accountancy practice in a hands-on accounts preparation and tax role, coupled with commercially developing client strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of client relationships who have a US presence
- Advise clients on trends and issues facing their business and industry
- Regularly meet with clients to keep abreast of developments in their business
- Take responsibility for clients’ accounting and financial control needs by performing rigorous validation and review of financial reports
- Provide virtual CFO responsibilities where required including budgeting, forecasting, planning, KPI analysis and fundraising support
- Devise novel US tax solutions to meet the needs of clients
- Assist with the planning and delivery of pitches for new business
- Manage the sales pipeline of new business to maximise conversion rate
- Assist with marketing initiatives to grow the practice
Profile:
- Practice qualified with a US client base
- Experienced with managing client portfolios and relationships, delivering on their demands
- Strong business partner, capable of building strong client relationships
- Strong US tax & regulations knowledge
- Automation mindset (Xero + wider ecosystem of apps & tools)
