Financial Accountant I FMCG I North Dublin
Job Purpose
To contribute to the finance function by delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and commercial analysis within a multi-entity environment.
Role Overview
This role will form part of a central finance team responsible for financial and commercial reporting across a group structure. The successful candidate will take ownership of key accounting responsibilities and support broader finance initiatives across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary accountant for an assigned business entity within the group.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reports.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure financial compliance.
- Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial planning and analysis tasks, including variance analysis and performance reporting.
- Develop and update weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate the external audit process for the assigned entity.
- Post recurring journals and ensure accurate month-end accounting entries.
- Prepare and submit tax-related filings and compliance returns.
- Assist in the preparation of group budgets and financial forecasts.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure data integrity.
Skills & Experience Required
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in financial and management reporting.
- Familiarity with financial planning and commercial finance processes is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience in coordinating audits and managing auditor requests.
- Professional experience within a regulated or complex organization is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- High level of integrity and ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong systems skills; experience with ERP or reporting tools is a plus.
