Finance & Accounts Manager I Greater Dublin Area
A well-established construction firm, with over two decades of experience in delivering high-quality building solutions, is currently recruiting for a Finance & Accounts Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing day-to-day financial operations and providing vital support to external accountants and auditors.
The company undertakes a diverse portfolio of projects spanning residential, educational, healthcare, industrial, commercial and retail sectors across the Greater Dublin area.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial records and general ledger maintenance
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and tax authorities
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Coordinate month-end processes: accruals, prepayments, intercompany allocations
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting (e.g. VAT, PAYE, RCT)
- Provide cost analysis and project financial reviews
- Support with forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning
- Produce monthly management reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Assist with year-end procedures and audits
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
- Collaborate closely with other internal teams
Qualifications and Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience (including accounting technician level)
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar finance/accounting role within Ireland
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Sage 50 (mandatory)
- Experience with payroll software (e.g. Brightpay) beneficial
- Familiarity with Irish Revenue systems and reporting
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and methodical approach
- Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Fluent English (both spoken and written)
